In a project organised by the Wongan Arts Society to install further sculptures within Wongan, as well as contributing towards the creation of an Art Trail, the Shire of Wongan-Balldiu have assisted with the installation of two sets of native animal sculptures. These sculptures were funded in a collaboration between the Wongan Arts Society and the Wongan-Ballidu & Districts Men's Shed.
The sculptures, created by Chaikarn Sumatluck, have been
installed in the gardens of "The Station" on Wongan Road, with the trio of kangaroos being funded by the Wongan Arts Society and the emu's funded by the Men's Shed.
The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu donated the machinery and carried out the preparation of the sites, Wongan Concrete Services donated the concrete for the padding and Rising Sun Landscaping & Concrete provided the labour for the installation.
In true community spirit and teamwork, the sculptures are now beautifully displayed for residents and visitors to enjoy.
