Bulk Waste Management and Trailer Hire

The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu has purchased a new trailer for residents to hire in replacement of the verge side bulk waste collection for Wongan Hills and Ballidu townsite residents. The Shire's Strategic Community Plan outlines our goal to lead by example for sustainability practices in both environment and business. By introducing this new service, materials will be better recycled reducing the amount of waste to landfill. It is also better value for money for rate payers after conducting budget modelling and analytical studies of our previous processes.

The hire of the trailer will be free of charge to eligible residents and will be dropped off at your property and collected at the end of hire. Residents may fill the trailer with bulk waste items for collection by our staff who will dispose of the goods on your behalf.

You will receive written confirmation of hire if your chosen dates are available, and arrangements will be made for the trailer to be dropped off and collected at your property. Trailer hire will be available for a maximum of three days at a time. Each eligible address will be able to utilise this service twice per financial year. Residents will also be provided the 2x bulk waste tip passes to use at their own discretion. These tip passes will be included with the rates notice. The trailer will be locked in place, and it is not allowed to be taken off your property for security and insurance purposes. Property owners are responsible for informing their tenants of this service.
