The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu was proud to sponsor the Wheatbelt Business Network's Small Business Event hosted last Monday at the Wongan Hills CRC! Sam Dolzadelli, CEO of the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, gave a speech and highlighted key initiatives the Shire is undertaking to support local businesses and economic development in our region:
- Workforce Housing Study: The Shire has partnered with the Wheatbelt Development Commission and NEWROC to assess housing needs and development opportunities across the region.
- Landgate Land Evaluation: Awaiting Landgate’s evaluation to unlock land along Shields and Wandoo Crescent, opening up future development opportunities.
- Childcare Working Group: Actively working to expand childcare availability, ensuring families have access to quality care and supporting workforce participation.
- Main Street Streetscaping: The Shire will be looking into future plans to improve the town's street appeal, encouraging local spending and connecting customers with businesses.
- Supporting Local Business: The Shire’s purchasing policy ensures we prioritise supporting local businesses whenever possible.
